You can book a SIXT hire car in about two minutes: enter your dates and location on the website, choose your vehicle category and rate, confirm with a card – your confirmation arrives by email straight away.
Step 1 – Search
On the website, enter your pick-up and return location, dates and times. Click "Show cars".
Step 2 – Choose vehicle and rate
Filter by category, transmission, fuel or features. Choose Flexi (free cancellation) or Prepaid (cheaper, non-refundable) and your mileage package. Select the right protection package and add any extras – additional driver, child seat, sat-nav.
Step 3 – Confirm
Enter driver and contact details, your flight number or loyalty programme if applichible, then pay by card. Your confirmation arrives straight away and appears in the SIXT app under "My Bookings".
After booking
Changes and cancellations are free up to pick-up on Flexi rates – manage everything in "My Bookings".

Some SIXT bookings – particularly for our Luxury vehicles – are created as "on request" while the local team checks availability. Confirmation usually arrives within a few hours, and within 24 hours at the latest.
How to recognise an "on request" booking
Your confirmation email will say "Your request is being processed".
What happens next
The branch checks availability and either confirms your booking or offers an alternative. You'll receive a message either way.

Most SIXT confirmations arrive by email within a minute of booking – you can re-download or request your confirmation any time under "Bookings" on the website or in the SIXT app.
Confirmation hasn't arrived? Check these three things first:
Check your spam, junk and promotions folders
Check your email address on the booking for typos
Open "Bookings" in the SIXT app or on the website – if your booking is visible there, it has been successfully confirmed
Re-send your confirmation:
Sign in on the website or open the SIXT app
Open "Bookings" and select your booking
Scroll to "Support", tap "Booking confirmation" and download it
Booked through a travel agent or broker?
In this case, your confirmation will come from the respective provider, not directly from SIXT – please contact the provider you booked with.
