Every SIXT hire car comes with third-party liability insurance. You can reduce your excess in case of damage by adding extra protection options – right down to zero excess. Intentional damage, gross negligence and breaches of the rental agreement are not covered by any protection.

Third-party liability insurance – covers damage caused to third parties by the hire car, in line with statutory requirements
24/7 Roadside Assistance – immediate help with breakdowns, tyre damage, battery problems or lockouts – around the clock
Optional add-ons
Excess reduction – reduces your excess in case of damage to a lower fixed amount
Loss Damage Waiver with zero excess – removes your excess entirely for covered damage
Tyre and Glass Protection – covers the cost of damage to tyres, the windscreen, side and rear windows as well as the mirrors
Interior Protection – covers soiling or damage to the vehicle's interior that would otherwise lead to a cleaning or repair charge
Personal Accident Insurance – protects you and your passengers against personal consequences of an accident during the rental period
Not covered
Intentional damage or gross negligence
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Breaches of the rental agreement (e.g. unauthorised drivers, off-road driving, travel to non-permitted countries)
Loss of personal belongings (please use your travel or home contents insurance)
Administration fees for traffic offences
