What should I do if there’s parking damage on my SIXT hire car?

Any damage to your hire car must be reported to SIXT immediately by phone and then followed up in writing — no matter how minor. This applies whether someone has damaged your parked car or you've caused a dent yourself. A police report is required in all cases.

Document the damage

  • Take clear photos of all affected areas from multiple angles

  • Note the date, time, exact location, and what happened

  • Record the other party's details: registration number, name, and insurance information
