How do I add extras like a child seat to an existing SIXT booking?

Change or modify a booking

Add extras to an existing SIXT booking online any time up to pick-up – open "Bookings" on the website or in the SIXT app, scroll to "Extras" and choose what you need. The new total price is shown before you confirm.

Extras you can add online

  • Additional driver (flat daily fee)

  • Child seat, toddler seat or booster seat

  • Sat-nav

  • Unlimited mileage upgrade

  • Refuelling/recharging service ("return the tank empty")

  • Protection upgrades to reduce your excess

  • Cross-Border Travel Fee (For UK, Island Hopper incl. Ireland only. For visiting the continent fees, please contact us)

  • Winter tyres (seasonal and in select countries)

  • Snow chains (seasonal and in select countries)

  • Ski racks (seasonal and in select countries)

How it's charged

Extras are charged per day on top of your base rate, usually with a daily cap. The exact additional price appears in your booking summary before you confirm.

Add at pick-up

You can also add extras at the counter – availability of child seats and sat-navs then depends on local stock. Adding online guarantees the item.
