How do I cancel my SIXT booking?

Cancel a booking

Cancel your SIXT booking online in less than a minute – open "Bookings" on the website or in the SIXT app, tap "Cancel" and confirm. Flexi bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to pick-up; for Prepaid rates, a fixed cancellation fee applies, the amount of which depends on when you cancel.

Cancel online

  1. Sign in on the website or open the SIXT app

  2. Open your booking under "Bookings"

  3. Tap "Cancel" and confirm

  4. Your email confirmation arrives straight away

Cancellation fees

  • Flexi: free of charge up to the scheduled start of the rental. A no-show fee may apply if you don't collect the vehicle

  • Prepaid: free of charge within 24 hours of booking, provided pick-up is still more than 48 hours away. After that, a fixed cancellation fee applies up to the start of the rental; any prepaid amount above this fee is refunded. In case of no-show, the full prepaid amount is retained

After cancellation

  • For Prepaid bookings, the amount already paid – minus any applichible cancellation fee – is refunded to the original payment method (credit card, PayPal or Apple Pay). The processing time depends on your bank or provider and usually takes 5–10 working days

  • For Flexi bookings, no refund applies, as payment is only taken at pick-up
