How does the payment process work and what payment methods are accepted or not accepted for Sixt+ in the UK?

WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS DO I HAVE WITH SIXT+?

All credit and debit cards from internationally recognized credit card companies (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, CUP) are accepted as payment, whereas all prepaid cards are not accepted. Please note that exceptions apply for premium vehicle groups: Premium vehicles (FDAR or higher) can only be rented with a valid credit card, not with a debit card. The means of payment must be in the name of the main driver.

HOW DOES THE PAYMENT WORK?

As long as your contract is active, in addition to the one-off sign-up fee charged at the beginning of the contract, the package price of your car subscription will be charged every 30 days at the beginning of a billing period using the payment method you have provided. If you book additional services (e.g. child seat) that are not included in the fixed rental price when you order online or collect the vehicle from the SIXT station, these additional services will be billed every 30 days with the next monthly invoice. If an additional service is only booked when the vehicle is picked up at the station, the respective fee is authorized on the corresponding means of payment until the settlement for the next term .

DO I HAVE TO PAY A SECURITY DEPOSIT? WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THIS BACK?

When picking up the vehicle, a security deposit is required to fulfill the contractual obligations in addition to the subscription fee, with which we authorize your credit card. The amount of the authorization depends on the vehicle group of the rented vehicle and the general Sixt terms and conditions in the version valid at the time of the rental. The amount will be released to your credit card again at the end of the first billing cycle.

HOW CAN I UPDATE MY PAYMENT METHOD?

You can update your payment method by updating your payment method in the Sixt app or by calling customer service. 

WHEN AND HOW DO I RECEIVE MY INVOICE?

You will receive your invoice by email once a month at the end of each 30-day subscription period. This will take into account the prepaid monthly fee and any extras you have added or cancelled during the subscription period. 

IS A SIXT+ SUBSCRIPTION POSSIBLE WITH A NEGATIVE CREDIT CHECK?

A SIXT+ subscription can only be concluded subject to a positive credit check.
