Your way to SIXT

Finding your rental is easy from Terminals A, B and C, just follow signs for the AirTrain to Station P3. The AirTrain arrives and departs every three minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight and approximately every 15 minutes between midnight and 5 a.m. On Saturday, the train arrives and departs approximately every 15 minutes from 10 pm to 5 am. Nighttime operation is a shuttle service which requires transfer of trains.



Return 95 North/South Bound

95 North Bound: Take exit 13A toward Newark Airport/Elizabeth Seaport. Continue onto NJ-81 N then take the North Ave West exit. Take Brewster Road and continue to bear right onto Lindbergh Road, which is also Station P3 for the AirTrain.

 

95 South Bound: Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 14-14C toward US-1/US-9/US-22. Continue onto I-78 W. Keep right at the fork to stay on I-78 W. Keep right to stay on I-78 W. Take exit 57 toward US-1 S/US-9 S. Use the left lane to take the exit toward Brewster Rd. Use the left lane to take the exit toward Brewster Rd. Continue straight onto Brewster Rd. Take Brewster Road and continue to bear right onto Lindbergh Road, which is also Station P3 for the AirTrain.



Return Route 1 and 9 South

Take Rte 1 and 9 S and McClellan St to Brewster Rd. Take the Interstate 95/Interstate 78 exit. Head southwest on Rte 1 and 9 S. Use the right lane to take the Spring St ramp. Turn right onto McClellan St (signs for U.S. 22/Interstate 78). Keep left. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Interstate 95/Interstate 78. Keep right, follow signs for South Area. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for S Area and merge onto Brewster Rd. Continue straight onto Brewster Rd. Take Brewster Road and continue to bear right onto Lindbergh Road, which is also Station P3 for the AirTrain.



Return I-78 Eastbound

Use the right 2 lanes to take exit 57 for NJ-21 N toward Newark/Newark Airport, Keep left, follow signs for Main Terminals/North Area/South Area. Use the left lane to take the exit toward Brewster Rd. Continue straight onto Brewster Rd. Take Brewster Road and continue to bear right onto Lindbergh Road, which is also Station P3 for the AirTrain.



Return 278 Staten Island

Take the I-278 W/Staten Island Expressway ramp. Continue on I-278 W. Drive from I-95 N to Elizabeth. Take the North Ave W exit from NJ-81 N then take the North Ave West exit. Take Brewster Road and continue to bear right onto Lindbergh Road, which is also Station P3 for the AirTrain.

Outside opening hours

Outside of opening hours, please park your vehicle on the side of the SIXT Building, remove your belongings, lock the vehicle and drop the keys in the orange keybox right outside the doors to the counter. To get back to the airport, walk the short distance to the AirTrain building, go upstairs and take the far train to the left.

The car I rented was in solid shape overall. It did have two tires which reported issues but it wasn't enough to be a problem. The car had been side swiped before I had picked it up which was a little disappointing but the rest of the vehicle was in solid shape given the mileage. The Wireless Android Auto was a bit fussy to set up but once I got it working it worked pretty much flawlessly after. BMW has this quirky electronic gear shifter which takes a little getting used to. Also, if you don't want to deal with the car constantly turning off and on just set it in Sport Mode. Oh and I rented this at Newark Airport which was a bit of a pain to return the car to their lot as the signage was poor.

My wait time was 1 hour so normally this would be a 1 star review but I am giving a five star review for the customer service I received from Sharee C. and Luz P. … they handled a stressful day gracefully and with a smile and they turned what started out to be a terrible experience with Sixt into a very positive one when it was finally all said and done ... thank you Sharee and Luz ... if anyone at Sixt management is reading this you have two gems in these rental sales agents
