How a One-Way Van Hire Works
One-way van hire is as simple as it sounds. If you plan to pick up the van in one location and leave it another you simply need to select the locations during the online booking process. This works whether you want to pick it up in one part of a city and leave it in another, or if you want to leave the van in a completely different city.
While doing the online booking you will see two fields, ‘pick-up’ and ‘return’ (make sure to un-select ‘Return at Pick-Up Location’). To see if a one-way van hire is available for your specific journey simply put the two separate locations in each and the booking tool will take you to the van category options and prices, or it will explicitly say the option isn’t possible for that route.
When you Might Need A One-Way Route
One-way van hire is incredibly useful. If you are moving up to university and have a lot of furniture, then it’s simpler to unload and leave the van at one of our alternate branches than have to drive it back. It’s also an excellent choice when if you’re transporting goods for an event and planning to take a car or public transport back home.
Popular One-Way Routes
We have branches in many of the biggest UK cities that house plenty of universities, businesses and live events. For example, if you are moving goods or house from Edinburgh to London - check our one-way van hire options from Edinburgh to London.
The same can be said when travelling to and from Manchester and London. With a close to 4-hour drive, transporting cargo with a one-way van hire from London to Manchester is great option and often available with SIXT.
