This is a temporary authorisation, not a final charge — SIXT places a hold on your credit card to confirm it covers the expected fare before your ride begins.

How the authorisation works

• An authorisation is placed on your card when the ride is booked, equal to the estimated fare
• If the ride goes ahead, your card is charged on the next working day after the ride ends
• If you cancel without incurring cancellation charges, the authorisation is released automatically and no amount is taken

If the authorisation has not been released after your cancellation, or you have a question about a charge, check your booking details in the SIXT App under "Manage bookings".
