For a small daily price, our Roadside Protection, an extended protection policy, covers minor accidents and incidents, protecting you from service and repair costs following self-induced events. These include:
In order to rent a car with roadside protection included, simply check the specific box in the booking process and the daily price will be shown and then added to your total amount.
Should you require these services during your rental period, they be ordered by a direct claim with Sixt 24-hour Roadside Assistance. The phone number to call will be provided when you pick up your vehicle. Our roadside assistance staff will meet you, and then determine the type and extent of service required to ensure you stay mobile. If any damage to the hire car occurs which is not covered by Sixt within the scope of the Roadside Protection, the renter is liable for such damage.
The policy is valid across every car category too (apart from vans and trucks), so no matter whether you are driving a city compact or a luxury sports model, you don't need to worry.
In the case of the key being left in the rental car, Sixt will assume the cost of the vehicle being opened by the manufacturer or one of its partners, the towing process and the replacement car.
In the instance of running out of fuel, Sixt assumes the costs for breakdown recovery and fuel required for the onward journey.
In case of a dead battery and required jump start, Sixt assumes the costs for the starting equipment by the vehicle manufacturer or one of its partners.
In the case of key loss, Sixt assumes the costs for getting you mobile once again, including the towing process and the replacement car.
In the case that the vehicle becomes unmaneuverable (e.g. due to winter road conditions) Sixt assumes the costs for the towing process and the replacement car.
