At Sixt our main concern is always the safety and happiness of our customers. As a result, our Roadside Protection policy extends across international borders. Provided you rented your car from a country other than Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Monaco or Spain, you can take advantage of our great protection wherever you go. The policy is valid across every car category too, so no matter whether you are driving a city compact or a luxury sports model, you don't need to worry. The only category not included in the policy is Vans and Trucks.
All services may only be ordered by a direct claim with Sixt 24-hour Roadside Assistance. They shall also determine the type and extent of service required to ensure the renter stays mobile. If any damage to the rental vehicle occurs which is not covered by Sixt within the scope of the Roadside Protection, the renter is liable for such damage.
In the case of the key being left in the rental car, Sixt will assume the cost of the vehicle being opening by the manufacturer or one of its partners, the towing process and the replacement car.
In the instance of running out of fuel, Sixt assumes the costs for breakdown recovery and fuel required for the onward journey.
In case of a dead battery and required jump start, Sixt assumes the costs for the starting equipment by the vehicle manufacturer or one of its partners.
In the case of key loss, Sixt assumes the costs for the spare key, the transport / shipment of the replacement key, the towing process and the replacement car.
In the case that the vehicle becomes unmaneuverable (e.g. due to winter road conditions) Sixt assumes the costs for the towing process and the replacement car.
