The larger of the island's airports, 'Hewanorra' as it's named, is still on the small side, and the Sixt car rental office is easily found in the arrivals hall. The airport is a the extreme south of the island, off the main St Jude Highway just outside the Vieux Fort area, and is also near the famous 'sandy beach' area.

The island has many famous beaches, and car rental is the best way visit them all, and a trip to stunning Rodney Beach is a must. If you feel like a different day out, why not visit the Sulphur springs? Spectacular landscapes are guaranteed, and driving back along the coast to look at the famous 'pitons', the twin volcanic hills at one end of the island, completes a great day out. Or try the botanical gardens to learn about the native flora and fauna. There's also the 'Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception', which is a great example of the Greek Revivalist style of building, and if sport is your thing, why not see a cricket match at the Beausejour Stadium.
