Ibiza Airport is located just 4 miles from Ibiza Town and has fast and easy road links to both this capital city and San Antonio, a popular resort on the Northern coastline. Our airport desk is clearly signposted in the baggage claim of the arrivals hall. From our Ibiza Port branch on Paseo Joan Carlos I, near the Grand Hotel Ibiza it is easy to join the road network that spreads out from the town.
Several roads criss-cross the island and run alongside its stunning coastline, taking you to every part of this fascinating island and dipping down to beaches and bays. It is advisable, however, to drive with caution as many rural roads are quite narrow and winding. Under Spanish driving regulations, children under 12 are not allowed to travel in the front of vehicles.
Parking is plentiful across the island although during the peak months of July and August it does fill up quickly at popular areas. Most city parking is on the pay-and-display meter system, indicated by blue lines. This is very often free at lunchtimes, overnight and on Sundays.
Although Ibiza is famous for being the party and clubbing capital of the world it has much more to offer than just this. With your car rental on Ibiza, you are free to explore its beautiful coves and sandy stretches of beach before driving over pine-covered hills and through an agricultural landscape where time seems to have stood still. As well as having a vibrant nightlife, Ibiza Town or Eivissa, also has a rich history and is home to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Dalt Vila. This imposing walled fortress sits surrounded by narrow cobbled streets and makes the perfect place for a family day out. It documents over 300 years of the island's military history with its interactive displays that let visitors try on armour, lift cannon balls and plan attacks.
A TOURIST PARADISE THE WHOLE YEAR ROUND
One of the unique but often overlooked things about Ibiza is that it truly is an all year round destination with many advantages to visiting during the winter months. It rarely rains on the island, yet it seems to have enough water to keep it looking fresh and green. Museums and tourist attractions like Dalt Vila are less crowded out of season while the temperatures are still warm enough to have family fun on the beaches. Ibiza is known for its spectacular sunsets but these feel much more magical when you view them in winter from an almost uninhabited spot such as Cala Conta on the island's Western tip.
Ibiza has over 30 beaches waiting for you to explore but Cala d'en Serra near the town of Portinatx is considered to be one of the most beautiful. It takes a little effort to make the climb down but once there you are rewarded with clear azure waters, sandy stretches, quaint fishermen's shacks and a traditional chiringuito serving locally caught fish.

Although the island is dotted with whitewashed churches, one of the oldest is the Església de Puig de Missa, dating from 1568. The simple interior is in contrast to its dramatic altarpiece while the outside features a defence tower, used during pirate attacks, and an imposing entrance porch.

Ibiza's modern economy is largely based on tourism which until recently has featured a strong focus on nightlife and a festival season attracting club-goers and DJs from across Europe. More recently, the island's administration has been working towards rural and family-friendly tourism and highlighting destinations and attractions away from the clubs and bars of Ibiza Town and San Antonio. The Palacio Congresos de Ibiza is a modern purpose-built convention and conference centre at Santa Eulària des Riu. Set in a pine forest close to the beach, the Palacio hosts trade fairs, conventions and live entertainment throughout the year.
