About Podgorica Airport

Podgorica Airport (TGD) is one of two international airports in Montenegro. The airport is approximately 7 miles south of Podgorica, the country's capital, and close to the town of Golubovci. It was previously known as Titograd Airport, in honour of Josip Broz Tito, and is sometimes known as Golubovci Airport because of its location. The airport is fairly small and caters to the needs of approximately 620,000 passengers per year. Car hire from the airport is recommended if you want to travel in style and comfort at all times in Montenegro.

Things to See and Do in Podgorica

Things to See and Do in Podgorica

Drive your city car to the capital and you will have the chance to visit several museums to learn more about the rich heritage of Montenegro. Since it was part of the Ottoman Empire for a long period of its history, the city has a lot of Turkish architecture. Visit Stara Varos (the old town) and you will see numerous examples including mosques, winding streets and a clock tower. The Montenegrin National Theatre, one of the most significant theatres in the country, is also in the city. With car hire, you can travel to the region's popular winter ski centres in the north and to a number of beach resorts along the coast.
