It’s Valentine’s Day soon and too many panic about what to do. If you’re in London the choices are right at your doorstep. Here are some of the most picturesque and romantic spots you can find in London. Spending time in these areas will surely make for a romantic day with your partner. Don’t feel overwhelmed with the idea of treating your special someone, head to one of these places and make some memories.
Notting Hill
Treat yourself and your partner to a walk around the iconic Notting Hill in West London. Packed full of pubs, cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and cinemas you can spend hours in this relatively small area. Famous for the romantic comedy after the same name Notting Hill has a special place in our hearts. On the weekends is the famous Portobello Market where you can find all kinds of romantic gift ideas on the fly like handmade jewellery and antiques.
Hampstead Heath
Hampstead Heath is a beautiful green area in north London. You can find it right by Camden Town, known for its shops, canals, bars, markets and alternative attitude. This makes coupling the two perfect for a romantic day out, perhaps a walk in the parks of Hampstead Heath and dinner and wine after. You can also spend the whole day wandering around Hampstead Heath with its stunning panoramic view of London, tranquil ponds and old manor houses.
Columbia Road Flower Market
The famous Columbia Road Flower Market is still open for a romantic day out. Pick up the perfect plant or bouquet with your loved one. It’s one of the prettiest markets in London, not just for the blooming produce. There are plenty of organic cafes, delis, boutique shops and more along the road. You can enter after queueing at the Shoreditch end of the market. In these times it should take max. 30 min.
Little Venice
Our last romantic suggestion is also located in North London and it’s a hidden gem. It’s a waterway between two famous canals: Great Union Canal and Regent’s Canal. You can walk along the waters and see the colourful houseboats underneath the trees that lean over the water. You can even organise a ride on a boat and gently go down the waters with your partner on Valentine’s Day. There are even some rather interesting one like the Puppet Theatre Barge, which entertains as the name suggests.
