Sixt has provided a list below on how many penalty points you can incur on your driver\u2019s licence for speeding and some other information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minimum penalty for speeding is a \u00a3100 fine<\/strong> and 3 points<\/strong> on your license.<\/li>
By law, you should receive notification of your prosecution within 14 days<\/strong> of the date that the speeding offence occurred.<\/li>
If you are within 2 years<\/strong> passing your driving test your driving license will be revoked if you receive 6 or more points<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Most speeding offences result in the driver receiving 3-6 points and depends on where the offence occurred, how fast you are travelling and your previous record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are possible ways to pay speeding fines online if you are in England or Wales otherwise payment methods will be stated on the ticket. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If the speeding offence that you have committed is minor you can sometimes avoid getting points on your license if the police give you the option of going on a speed awareness course. You have the option of attending a speed awareness course depending on the circumstance and you haven’t attended one in min. 3 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
If you protest the ticket you will plead non-guilty and have to appear in court. This can result in a max. \u00a31000 fine or \u00a32500 if you were on a motorway (if found guilty). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you get 12 or more points on your license in a 3 year period then you will have your licence revoked. You can also receive a ban depending on how much you have driven above the speeding limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
