Geneva is the European base for the United Nations and is also the centre point of the biggest ski resort, ranging from the Swiss Alps (Gstaad, Verbier...) to the French Alps (Chamonix, Megeve...), and many more in between. The International Airport of Geneva is located 4km from the city centre and the city's famous "Lac Leman". The airport is unique in that it can be accessed from both Switzerland and France meaning that passengers on flights to or from France do not have to go through Swiss customs and immigration controls if they remain in the French sector of the airport.
The airport has a single terminal and one runway, which is the longest in Switzerland, catering for almost 12 million passengers a year. The airport also has extensive convention facilities and hosts an office of the International Air Transport Association and the world headquarters of Airports Council International.
There are a range of shops within the terminal including Mont Blanc, Quicksilver, Cartier and Rolex. Various restaurants and cafes are also available for a quick snack or meal before you fly. First class and business lounges are available for passengers of British Airways, Air France, Dnata, Lufthansa, Swiss and Swissport.

Good news: The snow has fallen in abundance over the last couple weeks, especially in the mountains. Therefore, the local authorities shall be denying access to vehicles driving to the mountains without snow chains. We offer snow chain rental at 4,50 SFR per day. The ski period is starting, the snow has arrived, you certainly need mobility to move around, to go to your chalet. We are here to provide wide range of 4x4, vans and station wagons... all equipped with winter tyres. (ski racks and snow chains are available on request). Most of our offers include free winter tyres, but be careful when booking your car through intermediary websites, as they do not always include the charge (9,- SFR/day) which will be payable locally.
