Majorca

The "dry stone wall" is very well known by hikers from their hiking guides, but they sometimes ask themselfes what this shell be. The same walls can be seen while driving by car all along the streets in Majorca. To build this dry stone walls is a handcraft which has been exsisting since a hundred of years in Majorca. The walls have an extremely long lifetime unless roots of a tree affect them. Sometimes you can find a lot of geckos laying in the sun on the dry stone wall.

2009 media coverage on shortage of hire cars in Majorca was huge. Some local car hire companies had reduced their fleet, due to a difficult fleet purchase and financing situation, which resulted in vast stop sells for car hire on the island. If we can trust the media coverage not only no new reservations could be placed for a long summer period, aswell clients with confirmed bookings of car hire stranded without car on arrival, because the intermediary broker which they prepurchased the booking went under administration or even some car hire providers overbooked the available fleet, so that no car was avaialble.
