09/02/2010 - Exploring El Chorro on the Costa del Sol
The Costa del Sol is often referred to as the Costa del golf, with literally a golf course every kilometer of the 150km coastline. The Costa del Sol has the highest golf course density of a any destination in Europe.
However golf is not the only activity that holidaymakers heading to Malaga Airport can enjoy. Tarifa, the southern tip of Andalucía, is one of the best windsurf and kite surfing areas in Europe.
For people who are attracted to rocks rather than fine trimmed golf lawns, and for those that feel more comfortable on the wall than in the wave, Andalusia is a great destination for climbers. More than a thousand sports climbing routes can be found in the region around El Chorro.
The area is highly rated amongst alpinists due to it's versatility thanks to the year round sunshine. Throughout the year the climate in Andalucía is very mild, although in the peak summer months it is considered to be too warm for climbing. There are climbing routes for all levels from basic right the way up to level 8 in difficulty. Climbers heading out to Torcal de Antequera will find excellent Boulder possibilities.
For those that like to keep their feet on solid ground the region around Alora is well worth visiting, about 40 kilometers north of Malaga. Gaitanes between the rocks are not only great for walks but also for bird and animal watching from the several hundred metres of high rock faces and the impressive, landscape of the long ravine Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, a preserved National Park for over 20 years.

From next 13rd to 23rd August, Malaga celebrates one of the best typical fairs all over Andalusia! The party will start at midnight on the first day, with amazing fireworks, lights and music shows. Inside the fair place, every night all visitors can enjoy with funfairs, and also typical dressing and dancing and of course music, all of this inside of more than 200 stands inside the fair enclosure. During the day, Malaga fair is even better, because it is located on the city centre, where musicians cheer all visitors up with their shows in every corner of the city centre. And of course, our typical food! Visitors can taste all Malaga gastronomy in several restaurants and bars all along the area. So come and enjoy Malaga fair !!! It will definitely not disappoint you!!

Car Rental Travel Tips Andalusia: El Chorro The Costa del Sol also likes to call itself Costa del golf. There is a golf course on every kilometer of coast. This is the highest golf course density in all of Europe. Tarifa, the southern tip of Andalusia, is one of the best Windsurf and Kitesurf areas in Europe. For people who are attracted to rocks rather than fine trimmed golf lawns and who, on the wall, feel more comfortable than in the wave, Andalusia is a suitable tourist destination: For climbers the south of Spain offers something for everybody More than 1.000 sports climbing routes can be found in the region around El Chorro for example, a little place, with its own little rail road station. Alpinists describe the area suitably as very versatile, protected very well and primarily as a winter training area. Over the whole year the climate in Andalusien is very mild, in summer it is in doubt rather too warm for climbing. There are routes to be found from the beasic levels to the upper level 8 in difficulty. Out in Torcal de Antequera you can find excellent Boulder possibilities for example. Also for none alpinists a trip inland to the region around Alora is well worthwhile, about 40 kilometres north of Malaga. Gaitanes in bulk do not only offer one's services for substantial walks but also for bird and animal with observations off several hundred metres of high rock faces and the impressive, miles long ravine Desfiladero de los Gaitanes. For more than 20 years the landscape has been protected particularly as a national park.

The Costa del Sol is predicted to make a comeback in 2010 as one of the most popular holiday destinations for Brits heading abroad. The poor British summer of 2009 has put Brits off planning another 'staycation' and instead many will visit Malaga and the surrounding holiday resorts. Don't forget to book your Malaga Airport car hire early!
